The New Beginnings Challenge
Hey girls! Alice here with a new challenge for this week! So when Crystal first came up with the idea for challenges I specifically signed up for this week because I knew that I would be off at college. Because I’m hosting this challenge I had an excuse to scrap a layout that focused on that subject, which I really wanted to do. It also gave me an extra push to work with Nicole’s stuff which I haven’t done in WAY too long.
So since I’m all sentimental I decided to make the challenge about New Beginnings. It can be about your baby going off to school for the first time, or even just going off after the summer… It can be about moving to a new house… or it could even be about a new food you wanted to try. Honestly anything goes, and it doesn’t have to be recent either! Just choose a “new beginning” that you always wanted to scrap about! Hey, maybe you have pictures of your first day of college you never scrapped!
So that’s the main challenge! If you want an additional challenge… try something new on your page! Like a new technique that you’ve always admired but never got around to trying. Maybe it’s paper blocking, or using real flowers and branches, or warping shadows, or using more than one alpha, or lifting someone you’ve always admired! I know that I have ALWAYS admired Christine’s work (ScrapTigz) so this was the perfect excuse to lift one of her pages.
Here’s the one I chose:
And here is my take on it, using Twitter Blossoms by the lovely Nicole

Anyhow! I’m done rambling. Play along for a chance to win a $5 gift card to Nicole’s store! You know you want to.
Please use a little bit of Sugarplum goodies on your layout (freebies are fine!). Link us up in the comments section and I’ll pick a random winner! You have a week, so get scrapping!

Thanks for the challenge! I took an ‘old’ picture of our daughter when she was born. She has turned 2 Sept 5th, so it’s a nice way to look back!

Great Challenge, Alice! I, too, did the “new beginning” of my daughter when she born. And I HAD to lift Leslie’s “LaborPains” LO that she used on the last challenge! I loved it from the moment I saw it.

I have seen the blending technique from other scrappers, but I had never tried it myself.
My “new beginning” is my daughter on her tummy. You can’t really see it in the photo, but it was the first time she tried pushing up on hands and knees.
Nicole – Thank You for choosing my lo for this challenge!! The pages are all Beautiful ladies!
Here is mine! Great idea for a challenge…

Ok, I am a dork. It was this challenge that I didn’t see a winner not the last one I commented on. Silly.
Is there a winner for this one?
Yes! We almost forgot!
This week’s winner was Cristina! I’m off to e-mail you! Congrats!
