Happy National Scrapbooking Day to You!
It’s NSD! Are you having fun today?!
Well, I have a barrel full of new things to show you today… so hold on to your hats!
First up, I have a new kit in the store today. It’s a birthday themed collection because this year marks the 5 Year Anniversary of the Digichick’s opening day! We’re celebrating with a slew of kits that are available for 50% off all month long.
That’s right—50% off!
My contribution to the party is this bright and cheerful birthday kit, called Something to Celebrate–perfect for when you have something special to scrap about! Inside you will find 10 papers, 20 elements (including frames, stamps, flowers, word art and more!) and a set of numbers, 0-9.
This collection not only coordinates with the other Birthday Bash items at The Digichick this month… but it also was created using the Studio 365 palette, so it will match any of the other Studio 365 items you may have in your stash!
Well, my split personalities have been busy lately. Not only do I have a Sugarplum kit in the store today… I have a Girl Friday Grab Bag, too!
Inside my May Grab Bag, you will find a set of six colorful mini kits celebrating the various emotions of everyday life. It includes an assortment of patterned and plain papers, frames, elements and word art.
This collection also coordinates with the Studio 365 line, including my new Something to Celebrate kit!
You’ll also find that my two shops are on sale today. You’ll be able to save 30% off anything else you’ve had your eye on! But please note—that’s today only, while we celebrate National Scrapbooking Day. If you happen to miss out on today’s sale, no worries—just watch for the announcement that it’s my special day later this month when I will be spotlighted on the Digichick Blog during our month-long Birthday Bash! You’ll have a chance then to save 30% once again!
I hope you have a wonderful day celebrating NSD! Happy, happy scrapping to you!
Painted Edges Overlays
I have a new item in the store today. It’s a set of distressed edges for adding the perfect touch to your papers:
I made this set of overlays because I found that over and over again, I just needed “something” to add the last little touch to one of my digital papers. So, I created this set of Painted Edges from the “Commercial Use Dept.” of Sugarplum Paperie.
You can use each overlay by itself or add two together for a different effect. Each border is a different thickness, so by combining more than one, you can get even more looks! There are four overlays in all and each one is 12 x 12.
Set them to Overlay mode at 100% for a bold look or Soft Light mode at 30% for just a hint of distressing. Or you can easily recolor these overlays as needed! I personally like to use them as the final and top layer over all the other overlays I’ve used when I’m making papers. There are several possible ways to put these painted edges to good use in your Designer Tool Box. It’s fun to mess around and see what you can create!
And they are also licensed for Personal Use as well. You can use these overlays anytime you feel like you need a little vignetting around the edge of your papers!
I hope you enjoy having these overlays in your tool box! I know I do…
Happy scrapping!
Sweet Memories
Well… here we are! It’s New Releases Day! Are you ready to hear the answer to the big question?
First of all—thank you all for playing along with my little guessing game. It was fun! I loved hearing your choices. Maybe I should make a list of the people you picked and start collabing with them?! Oh, no—I shouldn’t even say that! Ha! I guess I should be thankful that I get to say this, but my “to collab with” list is already too long and it makes me feel overwhelmed! I feel guilty about all the people I’ve left waiting as it is. No need to add to it. LOL!
Now, I must have made the guessing game too hard! I didn’t want to make it too easy… but no one guessed correctly. So, I went ahead and picked a random winner: congratulations to Becky (with comment #4)!
Well, let’s not delay and get down to the big reveal!
My partner for this beautiful new kit was none other than the fabulous and sweet Danielle Engebretson. And here is our kit, Sweet Memories.
We teamed up to bring you this sweet and shabby collection that is full of lovely soft colors and darling vintage-inspired goodies! It’s perfect for scrapping about your little princesses or your treasured family memories.
You’ll find a ton of delightful little treasures in this kit. Included in this collection are 17 patterned and plain papers, over 50 elements (including frames, buttons, bows, flowers, ribbons, word art and more!), a paper alphabet (including upper and lowercase letters) and a set of numbers 0-9.
Here are some beautiful layouts from the girls on my creative team! First up, here’s a layout from Kate:

You’ll find Sweet Memories on sale now through Friday at the Digichick for 20% off!
And be sure to also check out this collection of templates that the talented Cheryl of Fiddle-Dee-Dee Designs created as a companion to this collab: The Verbosity Album
With these templates, there’s lots and lots of space for recording all the sweet memories you want to hold on to.
We you enjoy scrapping with our collab! We had a great time making it for you.
Happy scrapping!
Sneaky Peek!
I have a new Sugarplum collab kit coming out this week! Would you like a peek?!

Let’s have a little contest! Guess my collab partner and you could WIN a coupon to get this kit for free on Thursday. So, who do you think it is? Here’s a hint: I’ve never collabed with this person before.
Post a comment here by Wednesday, April 21st, 10:00 p.m. EST and the first person to guess correctly will win!
Key Lime Spritzer
Hello! I have a new kit to show you today! Here is Key Lime Spritzer:
This sassy and sweet ensemble will have you celebrating all things sunny and bright! It’s light and bubbly with lots of mellow colors—it’s bold and playful with lots of funky elements. You can scrap about your outdoor adventures in the sunshine or you can scrap about all the “little sunshines” you have in your life—this kit is flexible!
Included in this kit you will find 10 patterned and plain papers, 37 elements (including flowers, ribbons, swirls, brushes, word art… lots of little goodies!), and a lowercase paper alpha with letters a-z.
And this time I’ve also included all the word art I made as a set of black brushes (saved as .png files) and a set of colored word art (in a coordinating burnt orange) for “drag and drop” ease. So, you can add these to your brushes, or use the black ones in Overlay or Soft Light mode, or light or darken the colored ones in here. I know that people love options! They are a gooood thing.
Here are some layouts from the girls on my creative team. First up is Amy:

You’ll find Key Lime Spritzer in my Guest Shop at the Funky Playground on sale today through Friday for 20% off!
